What is a purge valve ?
A The purge valve is actually a servo driven 6 port valve that is operated by a accessory toggle switch mounted on the vehicles dash. The valves function is to redirect the primary diesel fuel supply through the vegetable oil supply line for a short period ( usually about 30 to 60 seconds) depending on the vehicle.
It is a soft silicone round or triangular one-way valve that sits on the bottom of the snorkel or mask. Often it is called a flapper and can be removed (by pulling). Mask purge valves may be round or triangular, depending on the year of purchase. Replace valve if you experience leaks.
