Monkey grass is pretty tough stuff. You can just stick it in the ground and keep it moist for a few days and you’ll have all the monkey grass you want and then. I’ve seen it grow in just about any kind of soil. You really need to keep it controlled or it will take over everything in time. I keep the perimeter of the grass dug up and moved to another location or discarded. If it looks ratty in the spring, you can cut it back amost to the ground and it will come back just like regular grass.
