How are plastic extrusions made?
It’s like making sausage or piping icing on a cake. If a general shape lends itself to “continuous” production, then it can be extruded. Plastic soda straws are a slam dunk example. A die on the end of a nozzle (connected to a hot reservoir of plastic) permits a continuous tube of cooling plastic to come out (be forced out), and it is cut into lengths and wrapped after enough heat is radiated off. Piece of cake.
