For this to be an issue, you must be using Windoze! 😉 The file naming convention is a result of the file names generated by certain Amiga music packages, typically the trackers. Not all music packages used the prefix.songname system, but the naming convention has sort of stuck! Any player worth it’s salt can handle Amiga music regardless of how it is named. An alternate naming convention is in the works, watch this space…
