The $5 million instrument was funded with $4.875 million from the Michigan Technology Tri- Corridor and a $125,000 contribution from Dow Chemical Co. in Michigan. Another $650,000 from the corridor went toward constructing the facility to house the NMR and offices at the Engineering Research Complex on campus. The balance of the construction funding came from MSU.
