Was Robin Hood a criminal?
Robin Hood was a heroic bandit. In the eyes of the rich and the sheriff, he was viewed as a common thief, but in the eyes of the poor, he was a hero and a saint. He did indeed “steal” money from the rich, which is considered a criminal act, but he did not keep that money for himself, unlike most criminals (whom keep the loot for themselves). Instead, he gave it to the poor and needy, kind of like a illegitimate, medieval Salvation Army.
