Through the end of 2002, approximately 90 percent of residents exercised their right to return and opted to move to temporary housing, while about 10 percent relocated permanently to the private market using a Housing Choice Voucher. Of those who relocated temporarily, approximately 53 percent moved to public housing while awaiting their return to a new or rehabbed unit.
