If the paper was not properly treated before applying the oil paint it will eventually deteriorate. The oil will rot the paper. While they are in this better condition than they will be in the future take some really good quality photographs. Do not varnish them until the paint is fully cured. It does not dry through evaporation but through oxidation. It should be dry to touch within two months and cured after six months depending on the paint itself and its application. Being wet and fragile store them in a box so they are protected from dust and physical contact. You will have to mount them before they can be framed. You might need to use a layered process with this current painted material as the outer layer then a solid surface like board with another layer in between using a sizing/sealer with or without a fabric.
