Whats the difference between a contract manufacturer and a private label manufacturer?
Per definition the contract manufacturers usually carry out a customer formulated request for a cosmetic product and deliver it to the customer. Private label companies however offer a turnkey solution, e.g. own formulas, manufacturing, filling and partly logistics. They consult their customers on extension of the product ranges, new raw materials and suitable packaging. In practice, there is no difference between contract manufacturing and private label manufacturing. Most companies, e.g. Trichema AG offer both kinds of services and a lot in between. A customer can concentrate on marketing and distribution of its products.
