How did Robespierre lose his lower jaw?
He eventually really lost his lower jaw when he was executed. He was the only one during the revolution that was guillotined faced upwards, so he could see the blade fall at him. During the fall of the blade, he screamed, so the blade cut right through his mouth, leaving his lower jaw attached to his body, and the upper jaw still stuck to his chopped off head…
