What is the Avengers?
The Avengers is a British: action, adventure, comedy, science fiction, and spy television program. It is all this and more. It has style, sophistication, and savoir faire. To coin an overused clich: It was decades ahead of its time. There were other programs in that same genre that were just as well known: I Spy, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Mission Impossible, Secret Agent, and The Saint.
