What is a witchs almanac?
Hi Captain Morgan It’s just an ordinary almanac, with a pretty cover, usually published by Llewellyn, marketed for neo-pagans who want something nice to look at. For the one published by Llewellyn it has pagan oriented quotes, and is presented in a more modern format than, for example, Old Moore’s almanac. As one of the other answerers has rightly said, it is ….an annual publication containing tabular information in a particular field or fields often arranged according to the calendar. Astronomical data and various statistics are also found in almanacs, such as the times of the rising and setting of the sun and moon, eclipses, hours of full tide, stated festivals of churches, terms of courts, lists of all types, timelines, and more. The information is available in a number of different places anyway, an almanac just collates them into one place for convenience. There is nothing special about a “witches” almanac, it is just a marketing ploy (and, I gather, quite a successful one!!
