I work about 2 blocks from south station. The station itself is very safe. The neighborhood is very safe during working hours, say 7am to 7pm. Later at night I have seen some drug activity in the allys. It is still pretty safe though. It is an up-and-coming neighborhood with a lot of high end lofts being sold.
