I would have to say YES! I practice vodou. I have seen many things happen. I have been healed by the lwa. I have been blessed by them in so many ways. If you are talking about the magic involved I also say yes. Pwens, bouteys, and packets are blessed by the lwa and used as magic. We do not create zombi, curse, or do anything that will hurt others. There are people called Bokors that do that. 95% of the practitioners of the religion do only healing, protection, and reverence with the lwa. However the other 5% are the ones that will do anything for a fee. It is dangerous to ask for work from a Bokor. They use wanga to make magic. Wanga is when a Bokor forces a spirit to do work for him. This can and usually causes the spirit to become angry and turn on the person using it. In my time as a Vodouisant I have experienced things that I have never experienced in my life. I went into the religion skeptical about everything. I am a firm believer in the power of Vodou.
