Is lycos discontinueing their free mail?!??!?!?
Hi, I posted this response to a several other lycos email questions. The link on here has a lot of postings about this, and even though there doesn’t seem to be a definite answer, I’m sure it will be shared here when there is one. Apparently as of May 31, 2009 they have decided to force everyone to pay ransom to access their email accounts. Check out this link. It is an old news story about lycos mail being shut down in Europe in Feb., but scroll halfway down the page until you see the posts starting May 31st and you’ll get more info about our current situation: http://www.buzz.lycos.com/index.blog?entry_id=1874608 My advice is to alert the media, and force Lycos to allow us access to our important documents, even if only for a short period of time, to enable us to extract them! Even if this is some kind of “error,” the news outlets have resources to get to the bottom of it. There are some links on that page you can follow, and also customer service numbers to call.
