Should I Buy a Recurve Bow or a Longbow?
Recurves are easier to master because of a higher brace height. They are also shorter than the longbow which makes it more manuverable in hunting situations. Being the more popular of the two, the Recurve will be more widely available. On the other hand, many recurve shooters end up owning a longbow sooner or later. The longer length gives this bow a smoother draw and because it has a lever type action, it shoots a lighter or heavier arrow at about the same speed. They are extremely quiet but can be finicky to set up with the right arrow.
