Why is Robert Carlyle underpaid..????
Yes, Crowe is a big spoiled baby, but he shines in films such as LA Confidential, The Insider (very under rated film) and Master and Commander. He can actually act; has good skills and sort of a Richard Burton energy. I think Robert Carlyle is an excellent actor, and he actually chooses his roles much better than Russell. I always love his work, and he truly disappears into his roles. But you are confusing a movie star with an actor. Movie stars always make more money, and it is more about charisma and salesman ship/marketing than anything else. Robert Carlyle is doing fine financially, and will have a long career. Stars can flame out fast, and they get pigeonholed and can wind up playing the same narrow role over and over again. Look at Denzel Washington; that man can act, and he has wasted himself making forgettable movies the last few years. . And Russell is wearing out his welcome regardless of talent.
