Did Carthage trade with Briton ?

Yes Carthage did trade with Britain, the Phoenicians were very good navigators and merchants and traded deep into Africa, with Greece, Arabs and Moroccans etc. There is even some evidence that they traded south of the equator – Phoenician pottery has been discovered below the equator, although it could have been bought/acquired in trade by indigenous groups of people. Regarding their trade with Britain, the Carthaginians were after tin – which was mined in Cornwall in the south-west. Tin is a key constituent in the manufacture of bronze and was a very valuable commodity at the time. I’m not aware thast in the Mediteranean that there are any naturally occuring supplies of tin, yet the Phoenicians, Egyptians etc all used bronze extensively in this era. The other major supplies of tin would have come from much further east – where there was considerably more competition for the material. The British tin mines were comparatively easier to trade with.
