Who was Rama?
Who was Rama? Rama to me was many things, but primarily he was an emptiness through which a brief and brilliant light passed. I think when I knew Rama most intimately was when I saw this light. The direct perception of it, permeating me, becoming me. Enveloping me in ecstasy. Rama was the most profound influence in my life. He helped me to become a successful businessperson. He helped me create works of art. He helped me find purpose and meaning. I have to say that after many years of working with Rama, the last few of which I didn’t see him that often, the most important thing I learned from him was about emptying yourself into something in order to transcend it. About giving so much that you lose yourself in the giving, about loving so much that love goes through you and past you to someplace else. Rama also taught me about commitment.
