Which Countries are Anglo Saxon ?
The Angles and Saxons were two of the Low German tribes that invaded England in the 5th century. They ended up driving out the resident Celts and took control of England over the next two centuries. Thus, England is “Anglo-Saxon” as well as any country that has a major portion of its population of English descent. These countries include Canada, the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. Even though the Anglo-Saxon portion of the American population is not of English descent anymore, it is still culturally English and families of English descent still control much of the political and economic power in the country.
