Answer 1: Guru Nanak Dev Ji used a unique way to answer this question and asked the king to count the pearls in the plate. When the king counted seven, Guru Nanak Dev Ji stopped him and said that his counting was wrong. The king was puzzled and started counting again. When he counted three, Guru Nanak Dev Ji stopped him again for not counting correctly. Third time, the king started by counting one and this time Guru Ji stopped him there and then for miscounting. King was utterly confused and asked Guru Nanak Dev Ji as to how the counting was wrong. Guru Nanak Dev Ji replied that he should start counting with a number that came before one. King said that there was no number before one. It was the number ONE where the counting starts and nothing comes before one. Guru Nanak Dev Ji smiled and said that you have answered your question yourself and in fact no one existed before God, it was God himself The One (un-manifest) before the expansion.
