What does BTEC stand for ?
A. Originally BTEC was an organisation – the Business and Technical Education Council – which was set up in 1983 to nationally validate and accredit high quality and consistent vocational qualifications. In 1996, following a merger of BTEC and University of London Examinations and Assessment Council (London Examinations) a new company Edexcel, was born. BTEC remains a brand for work related qualifications owned and offered only by Edexcel.
