There are three (3) different methods of programming the Address (suite numbers) and VID numbers (factory assigned) into the NMC. They are: * Via the barcode method; scan the bar-coded VID numbers found on the rear ISD housing directly into laptop Fire-Link load program, add suite number correlations, message units then download into NMC. * Via the VID number retrieval method whereby all VID numbers are acquired by plugging in each individual ISD and using the NMC to retrieve the numbers. The suite number is then correlated to each VID number by manually entering them, via the keypad, into the NMC * Directly via the NMC keypad. Key in all VID and suite numbers. This is the most time consuming method and should only be used when adding (or deleting) individual, or small multiple units, onto the network.
