Is Shawn Chacon a choker?
Actually, the physical altercation aside, Chacon gave the Houston club more quality starts than most other starters on the staff and thus — no — he was not a choker. He made a significant contribution to an otherwise middling starting rotation and stood to work his way back from the bullpen. The fact that he set the MLB record of nine no decisions to start the season is not a reflection of his abilities — but a reflection of his team’s weak bats.
