What was the fall of the Roman Empire?

0

The fall of the Empire happened when the various Goth tribes from the North consolidated their tribes an attacked Rome. Until that time attacking Rome was basically unheard of. But because of the split into Eastern (Byzantine) and Western empires the Roman Empire was weakened. Even though the “Holy Roman Empire” survived well into the modern age, the historical empire lost influence and power because of weak emperors, lousy policies, and disloyalty. The Eastern Empire lasted from 27BC to 1453CE, while the Western Empire lasted from 27BC to 476CE. Your question is a little vague, the fall was when it lost power. It was a series of events, culminating in the West with Goth invasions, and in the East with Ottoman takeover. EDIT: This is Yahoo Answers, I don’t understand why people make comments about not answering questions rather than either not answering or answering with an actual answer not a response.
