Why people hate Indian cuisine?

I don’t think that everyone especially hates Indian… part of the trick is ordering the right thing, though. I do understand why you might be feeling this way, though. I took my mom to a nice little Indian place last month called Mr. Curry’s. During the meal she kept going on and on about how unusual the flavors are. And she’s right! Indians use very different spices and herbs than Americans and none of it tastes familiar. People sometimes seek food for comfort, and unfamiliar food is just plain uncomfortable for them. But given the right dish, I think their opinions will change. It’s really a fascinating culture and delicious recipes. I think if folks actually knew what they were ordering (what on earth is ‘daal’ and ‘masala’?! See, it’s intimidating..). Good question.
