What Is Edamame Anyway?
Edamame is the Japanese name for fresh, baby soybeans still in the pod. They are smaller than a lima bean and when boiled, have a delicate flavor and crunch. Nutritionally edamame is full of good nutrients like: • Fiber • Calcium • Protein • Vitamin A Some substances in soy, and therefore edamame, are thought to control estrogens in the body and lead to fewer mood swings and other symptoms of PMS in women. Some research, however, has suggests that it may also lower important testosterone levels in men.
