Help Save Lives! Click Here to Donate Now! The Humane Society of Greater Akron adheres to the Association of Fundraising Professionals Ethical Standards and Guidelines regarding donor information. All information is kept confidential and is not shared or sold. Our annual operation cost is $1.4 million. We spent approximately $200,000 a year on medical supplies and veterinary expenses. Last year, our Humane Officers responded to over 600 calls for animal emergencies and over 1000 reports of animals neglect, abuse, cruelty and abandonment. Last year, the HSGA rescued over 2400 animals and found great homes for 1300.
