What is HIIT?
High-intensity interval training (HIIT) or sprint interval training is an exercise method intended to improve performance with short training sessions. Consider it like cardio „on steroids”. It is highly beneficial to burning fat in a short and intense workout. Usual HIIT sessions may vary from 10-20 minutes. Most HIIT sessions have a 2:1 ratio in terms of time. For example, for running, a HIIT session would be something like 60 seconds jog, 30 seconds sprint. This method can be applied to all sorts of cardio trainings (swimming, cycling, eliptical, etc). What is TUT (e.g. 412 or 4/1/2) TUT is Time Under Tension. In this example it would mean lifting the weight for four seconds, one second pause, then lowering the weight for 2 seconds.
