How many men in an Infantry Batallion?
A US Tank company used to be around 89 men or so; A US Infantry company around 187 men. So the average would be approximately 100 men per company. These figures changed AFTER the Vietnam War. After Vietnam, the US Army went to the “metric” arrangement; 4 tanks per platoon instead of the Vietnam War 5 tanks per platoon; 8 artillery pieces per battery instead of the Vietnam War 6 field guns per battery.
