How do i lay vinyl floor tiles?
1. Make sure the floor is absolutely clean or the tiles will not stick. 2. Start in the center of the room. Make sure you lay the first tile perfect or the whole floor will be skewed. – The best way I’ve found to get that first tile perfect is with a laser leveler…one that shines two lights across a room making a plus sign. Use that plus sign as your guide. – 3. Make sure your tiles press up against each other before you press a new tile down. Hold the new tile at a 45 degree angle and shove it right up to the tile that is already down. After you have that snug fit, THEN press the new tile down. This way you’ll avoid gaps between the tiles. 4. For tricky spots (like corners or around a toilet), make templates. I use magazine pages. Place a magazine page in the area that is to be filled with the tile. Cut pieces of pages and tape them together to fill the area absolutely perfectly. Sometimes you have to add many tiny pieces to get that perfect fit. Then use this “magazine page collage
