What are CFLs?
Compact Fluorescent Lamps are smaller versions of normal fluorescent lamps that can directly replace standard filament bulbs due to their inbuilt electronic ballasts and are made to fit standard incandescent light fittings. They consume between 5 and 40 watts of power depending on which equivalent you choose compared to a standard incandescent bulb e.g. an 11watt Eveready CFL is comparable to a 50watt standard incandescent bulb. Their colour and brightness are comparable to standard incandescent bulbs.
