What is design inference?
The Design Inference is the title of a book by William Dembski, one of the two leading proponents (along with Michael Behe) of the Intelligent Design movement in opposition to the mainstream scientific principle of Darwinian evolution. The phrase ‘design inference’ refers to the idea that the presence of deliberate “design” by a being capable of intentional thought (hence an “intelligent designer”), can be *inferred* from the lack of any other explanation.
