What is a research hypothesis?
It is a “tentative prediction or explanation of the relationship between two or more variables.” It comes from the research question(s). The research question is a query about how the variables under study are related. The research hypothesis is the proposed solution to the question. The hypothesis may come directly from a theory. If confirmed, the theory is “supported”. No theory can ever be “proven true.
