What ethical hackers do?
Generally speaking, an ethical hacker is retained by a company or entity to attack their own sites and information systems in order to discover vulernabilities and verify what safety measures are functioning correctly. This position may be granted to an internal employee and may include training, or a company may hire an ethical hacker in a contractor role. Their duties may include probing a given system for weaknesses, attempting to access sensitive data areas or attempting to obtain password or other security information from employees or vendors of the company by “phising”.
