According to the Drudge Report MSNBC listened to my grievance. MSNBC drops Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews from anchor chair… David Gregory will anchor news coverage of the coming debates and election night…. Developing…David Gregory isn’t the greatest thing since sliced bread, but getting rid of Olbermann is a necessity. It’s been rumored that Chris Matthews was on the outs anyway, so that’s not surprising. The New York Time has the story. Hopefully MSNBC gets Keith away from the political analysis. His Countdown show gets good ratings (the NYT calls it a “liberal institution”). There’s nothing wrong with that, but his style isn’t cut out for instant political coverage.
