Otto and Edith Frank lived very well off in Germany, but when they left to go to Holland their finances suffered somewhat. Otto’s business in Holland did well in the years that they were there, and as far as i know they had sufficient amounts of money to pay for food and other things needed until they were captured. Edith even had her own personal funds.
