What is all saints day in Mexico?
At thid time in history all churches in union with the Roman Catholic Church celebrate All Saint’s Day on November 1, no matter what country. November 2 is the Feast of All Souls. Various European countries have traditions about death. So did the Aztecs and Mezzo-American peoples. Mexico, especially southern, some parts of the USA with Hispanic populations and some Carribean countries celebrate “Dia de Los Muertos”. This remembers the dead. In small towns families build altarcitas in their homes. these are adorned with pictures of the dead, their favorite foods and things. Picnics and vigils are held in cemeteries. All these traditions coincide with the days of October 30 to November 2.
