Where are the great plains located?
The area known as The Great Plains encompasses most of the central United States and reaches northward to Canada and south to Mexico. The Great Plains region is approximately 500 miles by 2000 miles. States included are: Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming. It reaches in to Alberta, Canada. In Canada, the region is known as The Prairies.
