How do birds of prey mate?
It depends on the species. Some hawks (Falconiformes; “birds of prey”) mate in the air in an elaborate courting ritual, as do some swifts. However, the vast majority of birds do not mate in flight. Most birds, including birds of prey, display courtship rituals in the air and elsewhere (in a tree, on the ground.) The coolest mating ritual in my opinion, though, is that of the Blue-Footed Booby, which pick up and display their bright blue webbed feet in an exaggerated walk.
