BearShare and iMesh are both legal P2P programs and you can download as you please from them. Anything copy protected is filtered out before the download completes. That said, neither companies yet offer a premium subscription in the UK, so all I can suggest is that you check out iTunes or Napster (Napster offers the closest service in terms of download all you like for £x / month) for other legal sites.
