What does pinging mean?
This means that your computer is attempting to connect to a server, but it is not replying. This can occur when the server has crashed or is very slow. Give it a few seconds. If it does not reply by then, look for another server. For good gameplay, a ping time of 500 ms or lower is recommended. Sometimes, a ping time will be much lower after refreshing. In this case, always judge based upon the second ping time. There may have been a sudden bout of lag.
