• How long has PMC-Sierra been around? In 1988, the Pacific Microelectronics Centre (PMC) was established as a division of MPR Teltech (the R&D subsidiary of BC Tel, now Telus). With investment from US-based Sierra Semiconductor Corporation in 1992, PMC was spun-off as PMC-Sierra. In 1994 PMC-Sierra became a privately held subsidiary of Sierra Semiconductor (Nasdaq:SERA). In 1997, to reflect an overall focus on PMC-Sierra’s networking solutions, Sierra Semiconductor was renamed PMC-Sierra, Inc. and the ticker symbol was changed to PMCS. Today the Company is one of the industry’s leading semiconductor suppliers with over 1200 employees worldwide. We demonstrate exceptional technical leadership with over 200 products and over 275 patents. Our management team has a breadth of experience with telecommunications and data communications companies. • What are the people like at PMC-Sierra?
