What is Inklings?
Inklings is the club that runs the high school newspaper. Inklings is a monthly newspaper with its main sections consisting of News, Opinions, Features, and Sports. The News section includes school and community news. The Opinions section consists of an editorial, letters to the editor, a cartoon, and columns. The Features section includes movie reviews, theater reviews, a faculty spotlight, a featured artist, and a two-page doubletruck about an issue that students can relate to. The Sports section highlights two featured athletes a month and also covers sports at Staples. How is Inklings run? Inklings is a student run newspaper. Students do everything from assigning and writing articles to taking pictures and laying out the newspaper. Each month the editorial staff holds a meeting to decide what events the newspaper should cover. A few days later, a general meeting is held usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon after school.
