What is a leachate test/WAC test?

0

The Environment Agency now requires that hazardous wastes be tested before going to landfill. This analysis is known as a Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC) or leachate test. The WAC test only determines whether a waste will be permitted to be accepted to landfill (and to which class of site) and does not give any indication as to whether the waste is hazardous or not. This means that it is advisable to find out if your waste is hazardous before having a test done.
