The NST portion of the test is done by a registered nurse that specializes in maternal-fetal medicine; the ultrasound portion is done by one of the certified ultrasound technicians. The results of the BPP will be explained to you when the test is done. All BPP’s are reviewed by one of the maternal-fetal medicine physicians before the patient is sent home.
