Not directly, no. Flight Simulator uses Microsoft’s DirectPlay (part of DirectX) for all of the game communication, so that’s what FSHost uses to talk to it. Unfortunately DirectPlay is a proprietary system, and so far hasn’t been ported to the Unix environment. There are some systems such as WINE that have made attempts, but so far I don’t believe anyone’s gotten it to work completely yet. However, it’s possible to run a virtual Windows session under Linux, and then run FSHost there. One option is VMware, which lets you create a virtual “machine” that you can then install Windows on. Just create a new VMware session and insert the Windows CD to install it like you would on a new hard drive.
