WHAT ARE TEXT LINK ADS?
As part of the ad testing we’re doing in June and July 2009, we will be running a 1 week test with Infolinks. Sometimes, text link ads on sites look… not so good. But we believe that with relevance, low link density (meaning only a few per lens) and a cool design for the ad popup that happens when your readers click on the ad link, this could be a pleasant experience for people who land on your page. So we’re giving it a 1 week test and tracking numbers to see how it goes. As always, you can easily opt out of the text link ads. But more money for lensmasters and for charity never hurt, eh? Either way, we’ll keep you posted on what we learn. And if the test doesn’t turn up really compelling results for the community, we’ll turn it back off.
