Using POP3 or IMAP?
You can setup a local program such as Eudora or Outlook to obtain your RBSMail. If you choose to do this, you have two options to choose from: POP3 or IMAP4. The difference is that POP3 downloads your email from the inbox of the server to your computer, while with IMAP you are actually working on the server. IMAP is the better choice for accessing your email for a number of reasons. When you use an IMAP account, you should create folders and organize your email in those folders. You can then access these folders from anywhere you make an IMAP connection. In addition, you will be able to see your sent email messages from any system using this type of connection. One other major advantage of IMAP is that since all of your email is housed on the rbsmail system, it is backed up nightly. POP3 is a good choice if you use only one computer to access your email or if you use a dialup connection at home.
