WHAT IS SUPERBLEND?
Superblend is a soil blend we make here at our facility using various materials. It’s a special bend of sandy loam soil, organic matter and fertilizer. It consists of about 60% soil, so it’s a heavier blend usually intended for larger planting areas, such as a flowerbed. back WHAT IS THE DIFFERENT BETWEEN SUPERBLEND AND GARDENBLEND? Superblend is our general-purpose blend, which Gardenblend is intended for use with vegetable gardens. The one factor that separates the blends from one another, is that gardenblend has chicken compost added to it. This makes the blend too hot for general planting, but ideal for planting in your vegetable garden. back DO YOU ADD SAND TO YOUR SOIL BLENDS? No, we do not add sand. The soil we use for our blends comes from the valley, and is considered a ‘sandy loam’ versus the ‘clay loam’ native to Nevada County. So the texture of the soil we use is sandy in nature, but we do not add additional sand to the mix. back IS THE CHICKEN COMPOST HOT? Generally, yes.
